Cessna 152 - This is the type a/c that I
trained with.

Flying

Yes I have a pilot's license but unfortunately I don't get to fly any more.

Some of the pictures are of the types of planes I flew. I took training in Nashville, TN and soloed at Corneila Fort Airport. But I finally got my ticket in 1983 at Smyrna Air Center (the old Sewart AFB).

Although I'm not current, one day in the future I'd love to get back into it. (That is if I can afford it!!!!!)

This is something I really loved!!!!!!

Cessna 172 - about half my total time
is in this type a/c.

Piper Archer - another a/c that I was
checked out to fly.

This is me with a Piper Seminole. It's a light twin trainer that I had a small amount of time in. This plane was based in Murfreesboro, TN and was also used by the MTSU flight training school.

BT-13 - This plane was built for the Army Air Corps for Basic Training (hence 'BT') by the Vultee Aircraft Company. Years ago they had a plant in Nashville, TN. After many years and changes in ownership this plant became Avco Aerostructures. My dad, Kenneth Ratliff McCroskey, learned to fly in this type a/c back in the late 40's. He served as an Electrician's Mate 1st Class in the Navy CB's. After returning home from the Pacific he received his pilot's license. This was something the GI bill could do for you back then. It was his flying that got me interested.

Piper Apache - Circa 1960? That's me on the wing!!!!! I guess I was about 5 or 6 years old. This day I was in the back seat flying over our house and waving at my mother. I can still remember her outside hanging clothes on the line in the back yard and waving back at us.
